Top 3 Issues

If elected, I would choose these three top priorities to focus on: public safety, promoting small business, and community livability.

Public Safety: I have an experienced perspective in the field of public safety since I have worked in law enforcement for the last thirteen years. I want to encourage more neighborhood watch programs in our community. It is important that we take an active role and work together with law enforcement. Also, I want to make sure that our first responders, Police and Fire, have all the modern tools and training to perform their trade effectively. I have held several Union/Guild positions over the years, including serving on the executive board with the bargaining unit for Corrections. I would be able to work closely with the unions to ensure that these heroes are treated fairly, while avoiding unnecessary and expensive litigation.

Promoting Small Business: In the past few years, we have seen large corporations and big chain stores take a large piece of the consumer market. Although these developments can be good for growth, I think it is important to not forget about the importance of small businesses. In a community such as ours, small businesses can help create a unique character that will bring consumers to Mill Creek. As the economy turns, this can be an era for the entrepreneur. I would like Mill Creek to be the draw for these small businesses by promoting incentives for small businesses and their employees.

Community Livability: This community needs a center for its youth and senior populations. We need to create an infrastructure to support our growing city. I would like the City Council to help provide programs and activities that maintain and increase the quality of life of our citizens.
